14 DAY TRIAL // If you’re looking to jump on the Windows 10 Mobile bandwagon but want something that would truly set you apart from the rest of the crowd, a diamond-encrusted Lumia 950 is pretty much the best way to do that.
Microsoft has teamed up with Italian jeweler and luxury watchmaker Damiani to create a custom and luxurious (also very pricey) version of the Lumia 950 that comes with gold and diamonds on the back. Plus a custom plate that really shows how unique your device is.
First of all, it’s worth mentioning that this is just a cover for the phone and it is only available in Italy as a very limited edition, so only 99 will be made. The custom plate we’ve mentioned above shows the production number, and we’re pretty sure that #1 and #99 will be most sought after.
Diamonds and gold rings
The new covers come in white and black and have either a white or a rose gold ring around the camera. Each ring has no less than 10 encrusted diamonds while a gold plate is installed at the bottom of the case to show the production number we’ve told you about.
We have to warn you that you won’t be pleased with pricing. Each cover costs $2,150 (€1,950), and Damiani only sells them at its stores in Rome and Milan.
“We are so particularly proud to offer our customers a phone that has the ability to turn into a jewel for life as well as an after sales service dedicated to our partner for clients that buy the smartphone,” owner Giorgio Damiani explains.
Certainly, this new cover makes the supposed premium device feel a bit more luxurious, but there’s one big question. Does it have the creaking in the corners like the bigger Lumia 950 XL? Because if it doesn’t, it’s not a Lumia.
