Sony is expected to launch new Android smartphones at this year's IFA trade fair, and the Xperia Z5+ might be one of them.

There have been many rumors claiming that Sony will unveil the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact in just a few weeks, but little is known about the company's phablet named Xperia S70+.

Sony Xperia S70+ is believed to be the codename for Xperia Z5+, the larger version of Sony's flagship smartphone. Some of you might remember that this particular device leaked a few days ago as the fist smartphone to pack a 4K display.

This is rather strange since Sony repeatedly insisted that it had no plans to include Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) displays inside its smartphones, let alone 4K screens.

The information leaked via UAProf mentions that Xperia Z5+ packs a 4K display, but that should not be considered definitive proof.

The smartphone is expected to be unveiled in September

The good news is the first images of the rumored Xperia Z5+ have just leaked in Asia and, as XperiaBlog points out, the smartphone features the same OmniBalance design that is present in all high-end Xperia devices.

The render appears to have been taken from an official presentation slide and is referred to as S70+, which is the codename for Xperia Z5+.

As the image confirms, Sony Xperia Z5+ will be available in three color options: Black, Gold and Chrome. There might be additional colors announced, but for now only these three have been confirmed.

Unfortunately, the image does not come with any info on the smartphone's specs. Also, the quality of the picture is pretty low, so not many details can be seen.

Anyway, we expect more information on the Xperia Z5+ to emerge in the coming days, since we're just a few weeks away from the supposed unveil.
