14 DAY TRIAL // Rumors of the Sony Xperia Z5+ have been floating around ever since last month, when some of the specs of the device popped up online. We know that Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z5 during the IFA 2015 tradeshow in Berlin, but the company is apparently also working towards the Xperia Z5+ version.
Recently, we told you that the phone should make it out into the sunshine with a 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and 515 ppi. Which means the Xperia Z5+ could be Sony’s first handset to boasts the QHD standard, since until now the company only offered 1080p options (except for the Verizon-exclusive Xperia Z4v).
Well, according to the folks at Xperia Blog, who managed to get a hold of a listing coming from the UAProf (user-agent profile), the Xperia Z5+ (listed as models E6833, E6853, E6883) could possibly be the first smartphone to arrive with a 4K display.
Hopefully, Sony won't stick to the Snapdragon 810
That means it will support a fantastic resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels, which is unlike anything else we’ve seen before. Interestingly, the UAProf also indicates that a Snapdragon 810 will be fueling the insides of the phablet, which is the same chip the Xperia Z5+ and Xperia Z5+ Compact are supposed to be based on.
This info contradicts the previous reports claiming that the Xperia Z5+ would actually come equipped with a Snapdragon 820. Given the overheating issues Sony had to face with the Snapdragon 810 inside the Xperia Z3+, we hope the company will reconsider its choices and wait until the Snapdragon 820 arrives on the market.
Although that might take a while, since the first models equipped with this new silicon piece are expected to launch in March 2016. The Xiaomi Mi5 Pro might be the first one of these devices.
As you can see, the rumors are quite contradictory at the moment, so you'd better take everything above with a slight grain of salt, at least until we know a little bit more on the topic.
