Sony plans to launch its next flagship Android smartphone by the end of 2015 despite previous statements that claimed the company would limit flagship launches to just one per year.

Rumors about Sony Xperia Z5 have been making headlines in the last couple of weeks, so we expect the smartphones to be unveiled in early September, at IFA 2015 trade fair.

Along with the Xperia Z5, the Japanese company is likely to announce a smaller version of its flagship smartphones, the Xperia Z5 Compact.

Both devices will be available for purchase a few weeks later, though it's unclear which countries will get them first.

If you're an Xperia fan and have been wondering what the next Sony flagship smartphone looks like, then you're in luck since the first dummy unit of the device has just popped up online.

Several images showing the alleged Xperia Z5 have been recently published by French blog Nowhereelse.fr, along with some of the phone's rumored specs.

Once again, Sony makes use of the Omni-Balance design to launch another flagship smartphone, so Xperia Z5 won't be a surprise for fans when it comes to look and form factor.

Spec-wise, the information we have is based on speculations and leaks from unverified sources, so there's no telling which ones will make it into the final build of the device.

Little is known about the phone's hardware specification

That being said, Sony Xperia Z5 is expected to pack a 5- to 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that should support either full HD (1080p) or Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

On the inside, the smartphone will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, complemented by either 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

The Xperia Z5 is likely to pack a 20.7-megapixel photo snapper on the back with autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there should be a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Last but not least, Sony's flagship smartphone is said to drain energy from a 4,500 mAh battery, but there's no mention of fast charging or wireless charging technologies.
