Sony and Verizon Wireless announced a few months ago the upcoming availability of Xperia Z4v, a high-end Android smartphone that can't be purchased anywhere in the world yet.

However, the carrier did not mention when exactly the smartphone would go on sale, so Verizon customers are still waiting for the Big Red to confirm the availability of the Xperia Z4v.

Although previous rumors pointed to a possible release of the flagship handset on August 13, it looks like Verizon has decided to postpone the launch for another date.

Today, a new report coming from TotalTech claims that Verizon might finally release the Xperia Z4v on September 3. Since Sony will be present at this year's IFA trade fair, which is set to begin in early September, the Xperia Z4v might be showcased there at the company's booth.

It is also worth mentioning that the same source claims the Xperia Z4v will be available for purchase for only $600 outright. Also, in the first week, customers who own the Xperia Z3v can trade it in and receive a $220 cut from the Xperia Z4v's price, which will be available for only $380 off contract.

Last but not least, customers who don't own the Xperia Z3v or don't want to trade it in will still receive a $70 price cut in the first week, so the Xperia Z4v will be available for $530.

The most advanced Xperia smartphone soon to be available on the market

Unlike the regular Xperia Z4, Verizon's version comes with a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Furthermore, the smartphone is equipped with a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit, and 3GB of RAM.

There are 32GB of internal memory inside, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

The smartphone will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and an impressive 21-megapixel rear-facing camera. Also, Sony Xperia Z4v features IP68 certification and wireless charging.
