The dual version of the phone is getting the update, too

It looks like the Xperia XZ is the second Sony smartphone to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The Japanese company started its beta program to deliver the Nougat upgrade weeks ago, but it was very quick on releasing the update.

The first Sony smartphone to received Android 7.0 Nougat was the Xperia X Performance, but the update landed just a few days ago, so we could say that both devices are getting the update around the same time.

According to a new report, the update is available for both Xperia XZ (F8331) and Xperia Z Dual (F8332). If you own one of these two smartphones, you should be looking for a new firmware with build number 39.2.A.0.327.

Keep in mind, though, that this is a fairly sizable download at 1GB, so make sure you have enough storage space before trying to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat.

It's also worth mentioning that the update is only available in select regions, but we expect Sony to expand the availability of Android 7.0 Nougat to additional countries in the coming weeks.

Among the most important new changes included in Android 7.0 Nougat there's the multi-window support. This means that you can now multitask much more easily since you'll be able to run two apps at the same time and double tap to switch between them.

The Stamina mode, exclusive to Xperia smartphones, has been improved, so Android 7.0 Nougat will bring even longer battery life when this mode is enabled. The update also adds customizable quick settings and, you'll also notice that notifications have been redesigned.

Since Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ have already received Android 7.0 Nougat, we expect Sony to start pushing the update to additional smartphones by the end of the year. Which Xperia phone you think will be next?
