Sony is expected to unveil two new smartphones next month, and rumors on these upcoming devices have been leaking on a daily basis lately. In fact, just yesterday, we saw images of the Xperia X Compact, and the Czech version of Sony’s website confirmed the existence of the two handsets.

Specs for Sony’s Xperia X Compact and Xperia XR (XZ) leaked over at Techtastic. As such, the Xperia X Compact could pack a 4.6-inch display and a 2,700mAh battery, and it will have a Snapdragon 820 SoC.

What's more, the smartphone will feature USB Type-C. Still, there’s no information at this point about the device’s camera capabilities or RAM capacity. However, considering that it’s a Compact version, it could offer 3GB of RAM. The website reports that the Xperia X Compact is, in fact, the smartphone previously known under the name of Xperia XR and is internally called Kugo.

The Xperia XZ could come with a 23MP rear camera

The second smartphone to be announced is the Xperia XR, which will most likely be known as the Xperia XZ, considering that this moniker appears on Sony’s website. The handset is codenamed the Kagura and will come with a 5.2-inch curved 2.5D glass and run Snapdragon 820.

It could come with 4GB LPDD4 memory, and the smartphone could sport a powerful rear camera of 23MP with two LED flashes and laser autofocus. Aside from this, front camera capacity seems to reach 13MP, and the device will feature USB Type-C port. Many leaks have suggested that Sony could unveil these two devices during its September 1 presentation at IFA 2016, and a leakster recently disclosed the release date. Tipster @Ricciolo1 stated that the two devices could be made available on September 24, together with Style Covers. They would also come with OIS on rear cameras, a first for Sony smartphones.
