14 DAY TRIAL // Even though Sony has already unveiled its new Xperia X series, none of the smartphones included in the new family are available for purchase yet.
But that's about to change, as two of the smartphones confirmed by Sony a few months ago, the Xperia X and Xperia XA will arrive in the UK in less than month.
In fact, only the Xperia X will be available in the UK in less than one month since Amazon confirmed the device will go on sale on May 20. The other smartphone, Xperia XA will be available for purchase in the UK beginning June 10.
Customers can now pre-order the Xperia X via Amazon UK for no less than £550 while the Xperia XA can be pre-ordered as well, but customers won't have to pay more than £280.
The most expensive of the two, Sony Xperia X is powered by a 64-bit 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, paired with an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.
The smartphone packs 32GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot. The Xperia X sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features oleophobic coating.
Both are a little bit overpriced considering their specs
Another strong point of the phone is the 23-megapixel camera on the back, which features phase detection autofocus, LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording. There's also a secondary 13-megapixel camera in the front.
Sony Xperia X drains energy from a non-removable 2,620 mAh battery, which hasn't been rated by the manufacturer yet.
Next in line, the much cheaper Xperia XA sports a similar 5-inch display but supports only HD (720p) resolution. On the inside, the phone packs a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage that can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card.
On the back, there's 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, whereas on the front there's a secondary 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The Xperia XA is powered by a non-removable 2,300 mAh battery, which should provide up to 600 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.
