Sony introduced the Xperia C4 handset last month, and back then the producing company promised the smartphone would make it to retail shelves sometime in mid-June.
But it didn’t take Sony that long to start selling the upper mid-range device. The Xperia C4 was already selling in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia earlier this month, and now the phone is also up for grabs in the US, via a third-party retailer.
Amazon has picked up the unlocked, international version of the handset (no LTE support in the US, sorry) and is selling it for $379 / €336 in black and white coloring options. Still, the phone is compatible with 3GB bands from US carriers AT&T and T-Mobile.
Sony Xperia C4 is a handset to be taken into consideration
The phone packs Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, NFC (Near Field Communication), GPS and AGPS. The selfie-branded phone will ship out with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, but Sony might upgrade the phone to Android 5.1 at some point in the future.
The model sports a more than decent 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with support for full HD (1080p) resolution and features Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2.
Even if the Xperia C4 holds a mid-range status, the phone is pretty capable. Under the hood, Sony has slipped a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor working side by side with a Mali-T760MP2 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.
The phone nestles 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
Another strong point of this unit is that it takes advantage of a 13MP camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
Up in front we find a secondary 5MP shooter for selfies, which is capable of capturing HD video as well. It also takes advantage of LED flash.
We should also mention that the phone is kept alive by a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery. Sony says it should be enough for 650 hours of standby or for up to 13 hours of talk time.
Is anyone up for purchasing this worthy mid-ranger?
