The fix will arrive soon on Xperia X Performance phones

Sony unveiled the Xperia X Performance back in February this year, together with two other smartphones in the series, Xperia X and Xperia XA. Xperia X Performance was the most powerful smartphone among the three devices that were announced during the Mobile World Congress 2016.

Xperia X Performance comes with a very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to up to 128GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone comes with impressive rear camera specs, 23MP with 4k video recording and predictive hybrid autofocus. Front camera capacity is 13MP and the phone has a 2,700mAh battery and 5-inch display with full HD resolution. The phone currently sells for about $599.99 at BestBuy. Despite its impressive specs, it seems that the Xperia X Performance has some issues with a few of its components.

Sony will be rolling out an update containing the fix soon

Many users have taken to the Sony Mobile forum in order to express their discontent towards the fact that the accelerometer on some units suddenly stops working. It can be quite inconvenient when trying to switch back and forth between portrait and landscape mode by flipping the phone sideways.

A Sony support staff member has stated that the issue can be solved by simply rebooting the phone and added that Sony is currently working on a permanent fix, which should arrive soon. It seems that users who are experiencing the issue can send log files to Sony so that its technical staff can find a solution.

The problem seems to appear with Xperia X Performance’s accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, ambient light, proximity sensor, barometer or screen rotation.

Sony had provided a fix for the problem in the past few weeks, but it seems that the issue persisted. The new fix should arrive in the form of an update, but it’s unsure when that will actually happen.
