These are the first models from a new lineup

After the Xperia Z3+ fiasco, Sony is looking to redeem itself in the eyes of its fans. And what better way to do that than by launching a new lineup of smartphones that will hopefully avoid the mistakes made by their predecessors.

According to a new report coming from Germany, Sony has two new high-end smartphones in the pipeline that we have never heard ofbefore. And no, it's not the Xperia Z5.

Apparently, two new smartphones will be showcased by Sony at IFA 2015 trade fair, which is set to kick off in early September.

However, the cited report claims the so-called Xperia S60 and Xperia S70 will be available on the market as early as mid-August, which would make the IFA 2015 announcement impossible since they will be launched two weeks earlier.

A new lineup of Xperia smartphones might be announced next month

Some European retailers claim Sony will launch both high-end smartphones on August 18 and they also have priced for these unannounced devices.

It appears that Xperia S60 will go on sale for around $855, while the Xperia S70 will cost no less than $920. The price tag of these new Xperia smartphones makes us believe they belong to the top tier lineup.

Unfortunately, aside from the fact that they pack 32GB of internal memory, we know nothing about their internal hardware.

Still, we do know that Sony Xperia S60 will be available in four different color options at launch: black, white, yellow and coralie. On the other hand, Xperia S70 will be available in black, white, gold and green.

Even though we don't have any details on their specs, we sincerely hope they won't be powered by the same controversial Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, which makes the Xperia Z3+ such a hot (literally) device most of the time.
