We’re just a week away from IFA 2015 trade fair, during which we expect Sony to unveil a new flagship device meant to wash away the failure that proved to be the Xperia Z3+.

The coming smartphone showed up in a bunch of leaks recently, so we’re pretty sure the company is serious about unleashing a new device during the grand event.

Now, a new teaser coming from Sony on Twitter all but confirms the arrival of the Xperia Z5 in Berlin. The image posted by the company invites fans to “get ready for a smartphone with a greater focus,” which probably means the phone will take advantage of a hybrid autofocus system.

The Xperia Z5 is visible in the photograph, but we can’t see much due to all the blur. Still, it’s pretty obvious that the form factor bears the same OmniBalance design, which means the Japanese company didn’t have the time to make any real changes in this regard.

Rumored specs of the Sony Xperia Z5

At some point in the past, the Xperia Z5 was rumored to arrive with a brand new, refreshed design, but it seems now that this will not be the case after all. According to word on the street, the Sony Xperia Z5 is expected to pack a 5- to 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that should support either full HD (1080p) or Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

On the inside, the smartphone will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, complemented by either 4GB or 3GB of RAM. The phone is likely to pack a 20.7MP photo snapper on the back coming with autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, while up in front we have a 5MP selfie camera.

Last but not least, the phone should embed a 4,500 mAh battery under the hood, but we don’t know whether the phone will take advantage of any fast charging or wireless charging technologies.

Alongside the Xperia Z5, Sony is also expected to unveil the Xperia Z5 Compact during IFA 2015. The company introduced the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact during the same event last year, so it’s likely that we'll witness the same scenario happen this year.
