The experimental build is only available to select users

Sony has just released a new Concept build for the Xperia X, which fixes lots of the bugs that haven't been addressed in previous updates. In addition, a new feature has been implemented, which allows users to make some adjustments to the way the phone's display works.

The experimental build is only available to those Xperia X users who enrolled in the beta program and have been selected as participants. If you are one of those users, then you will receive the new update OTA (over the air).

It's also worth mentioning this is a small update that weighs in at 39MB, so don't expect major changes to be included in this release. As mentioned earlier, this iteration seems to be aimed at addressing many of the bugs that were reported by users in the last couple of weeks.

As XperiaBlog points out, the only new feature included, which was confirmed by Sony, is the addition of a new Ambient display option, which allows users to set their phones' screens to wake up every time they receive a notification.

Camera viewfinder and Bluetooth Audio bugs get fixed

The new option can be enabled or disabled from the Settings in the Display menu. There are no additional settings regarding this new Ambient display feature, so you can either enable or disable it.

Furthermore, the official changelog mentions the update should bring a fixed calibrated brightness to the Camera viewfinder. Also, a fix for Bluetooth Audio / Ok Google has been implemented too.

Two other bugs have also been addressed in this update: one for missing call LED and another one for tinted display color. Keep in mind that this is the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, the latest version released by Google if we don't count the beta version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat launched earlier this week.

Also, the update won't bring any new security patches, so you will probably remain on the January security updated that's been added in the previous build.
