Some of you might already know that Sony has already started the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ, but that won't remain the only Sony smartphones to run the new OS for too long.

According to Sony, Android 7.0 Nougat updates will be rolled out to additional smartphones, so here is the full list confirmed by the Japanese company: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, and Xperia X Compact.

Obviously, the timing and availability will vary by region and carrier. It's also worth mentioning that, while most models will be supported, some carriers and market exceptions will apply.

As always, these updates will be staged, so they will not go live for everyone at the same time, but they will reach compatible smartphones in a matter of days.

Along with the list of smartphones that will receive Android 7.0 Nougat, Sony also detailed some of the features included in the update, so read on if you want to know what's in store for you.

First of all, there's the multi-window support that most of you Xperia fans are waiting for, which is supposed to make multitasking much easier, as you will be able to run two apps at the same time and double tap to switch between each.

Then, there's longer battery life thanks to an improved Stamina mode. Some messaging improvements will be implemented too, so you will have more ways to tell your story with the latest Messaging app, enabling you to share videos and audio with a few taps.

The camera app now features manual settings control. Sony revealed that it has added all-new manual focus and shutter speed controls, which are now available for Xperia X Performance.

Lastly, the home screen got some enhancements as well, so users will now get a smarter and more personal Xperia home screen, with Google Now integration.

There are a lot more new features and improvements included in the update, but those above are among the most notable changes Nougat brings to Xperia smartphones.
