The developers of the SolydXK (SolydX with the Xfce desktop environment and SolydK with the KDE desktop) GNU/Linux distribution are announcing the immediate availability of new ISO respins.

SolydXK 201701 are the first ISO respin images of the Linux-based operating system for the new year, bringing up-to-date packages and fixing a whole lot of bugs that have been discovered since the previous releases. In fact, it looks like it has been more than six months since the last SolydXK ISO respin was published.

"The ISOs are fully updated, and numerous bugs were resolved. These editions do deserve their naming: they are incredibly solid," said the developer in today's announcement. "The localized Dutch version is available for download as are the 32-bit community editions. The other community editions and localized editions will follow later."

Existing users don't need to download the new ISOs

SolydXK 201701 comes in three flavors, with the SolydX and SolydK variants for 64-bit PCs, and SolydX RPI for Raspberry Pi single-board computers. As the developer mentioned above, 32-bit editions of SolydX and SolydK are provided by the community, but supporting only the Dutch language at the moment of writing.

These are available for download right now from our website, but if you're using any of the SolydXK editions on your computers and you have all the latest updates installed, then there's no need for you to download them. The SolydXK 201701 ISO images are intended only for those who want to deploy the Linux OS on new machines.

SolydX and SolydK are Debian-based GNU/Linux distributions, designed to offer users an open-source alternative for their small businesses or non-profit organizations. It can be successfully used for a home office as well, and it can be easily described as being very stable, secure, and easy to use.
