The track it accompanies is “Good for You,” initially released as a collaboration with A$AP Rocky. This version leaves him out and also strips down the melody to make it moodier and more sensual.
So naturally, the video was created as the perfect match, focusing mostly on Selena’s face, with a few lingering shots of her fully clothed body and a few, very hot scenes in the shower, behind a glass pane.
Selena had previously admitted that the real challenge was to make it sexy without being cheap or tacky, or too-in-your-face.
“It’s very jeans and a T-shirt, moments where a woman is deep in thought, or in a moment where she’s in this crazy little rage,” she said. “It just captures real things that women do. There are a lot of things that women do that are sexy that aren’t just typical, cheap.”
“Good for You” was directed by Sophie Muller and seems to hail a new phase in Selena’s career, one that will see her as a mature woman owning every aspect about her personality.
