Includes OpenSSH 7.6 & LibreSSL 2.6.3 for the best security

The BSD-based, UNIX-like operating system OpenBSD has been recently updated to version 6.2, a release that introduces up-to-date components, better hardware support, and lots of security improvements.

Coming six months after the launch of OpenBSD 6.1 early this spring, which was the first point release in the 6.x series of the operating system, OpenBSD 6.2 is here to introduce a large number of enhancements, among which we can mention better support for various ARM boards, IEEE 802.11 wireless stack improvements, as well as some generic network stack improvements.

It also includes various vmm and vmd improvements, a bunch of enhancements to the routing daemons and other userland network components, an improved installer, as well as some dhcpd, dhcrelay and dhclient improvements. LLVM/Clang 5.0.0 is now used as default compiler for both 64-bit and 32-bit platforms, and core components now include OpenSMTPD 6.0.0, OpenSSH 7.6, and LibreSSL 2.6.3.

Among various of the updated components included in OpenBSD 6.2, we can mention X.Org 7.7, X.Org Server 1.18.4, Mesa 13.0.6, KDE 3.5.10 and 4.14.3, GNOME 3.24.2, Xfce 4.12, GCC 4.9.4, Emacs 21.4 and 25.3, Lua 5.1.5, 5.2.4, and 5.3.4, Go 1.9, Mutt 1.9.1 and NeoMutt 20170912, Node.js 6.11.2, Ocaml 4.03.0, OpenLDAP 2.3.43 and 2.4.45, Postfix 3.2.2 and 3.3-20170910, PostgreSQL 9.6.5, as well as Python 2.7.14 and 3.6.2.

The PHP 5.6.31 and 7.0.23, R 3.4.1, Ruby 1.8.7.374, 2.1.9, 2.2.8, 2.3.5 and 2.4.2, Rust 1.20.0, Sendmail 8.16.0.21, SQLite3 3.20.1, Sudo 1.8.21.2, Tcl/Tk 8.5.19 and 8.6.6, TeX Live 2016, Vim 8.0.0987, JDK 8u144, AFL 2.51b, CMake 3.9.3, GHC 7.10.3, Groff 1.22.3, MariaDB 10.0.32, Chromium 61.0.3163.100, Mozilla Firefox 52.4.0 ESR and 56.0.0, Mozilla Thunderbird 52.2.1, and GIMP 2.8.22 components are also included.

Also present are Perl 5.24.2, Expat 2.2.4, NSD 4.1.17, Unbound 1.6.6, Ncurses 5.7, Binutils 2.17, GDB 6.3, and Awk Aug 10, 2011. OpenBSD 6.2 installation images are available for download for 64-bit (amd64), 32-bit (i386), ARM, ARM64 (AArch64), Alpha, HPPA, MIPS64, MIPS64el, PowerPC, and SPARC64 platforms. All users running OpenBSD 6.1 or OpenBSD 6.0 can upgrade to version 6.2 using the official repositories of the operating system.
