The Manjaro development team, through Philip Müller, has announced the release and immediate availability for download and testing of the second Preview build for the upcoming Manjaro Linux 15.12 computer operating system.

Prominent features in Manjaro Linux 15.12 Pre2 include the addition of the recently released KDE Plasma 5.4.3 desktop environment (for the KDE flavor), the latest Linux 4.3 kernel, and the lightweight Xfce 4.12 desktop environment (for the Xfce edition).

Furthermore, there are many updates to Manjaro-Tools, as well as lots of improvements to the Calamares graphical installer, which now supports UEFI installations, optional installs of bootloaders, improved installation options, and password unification.

For Manjaro-Tools, the developers have managed to update and optimize the KCM (KDE Control Module) module for the Manjaro Settings app, add multiple enhancements to the Octopi and Pamac package mananger, as well as to fix an issue with LVM in Thus.

"We worked mostly on our tools and the graphical installers," says Philip Müller, lead developer and creator of Manjaro. "Testing branch was used to create these install medias. Please give us feedback and report any issues with this release."

KDE and Xfce editions available for download now

If you are courageous enough to install the second milestone of the upcoming Manjaro Linux 15.12 distribution on your computer, we suggest downloading either Manjaro Linux 15.12 Pre2 KDE edition or Manjaro Linux 15.12 Pre2 Xfce flavor from Softpedia.

When using Manjaro Linux 15.12 Pre2, please try to keep in mind that it is a pre-release build, designed to be used only by testers to report bugs and other annoying issues. Both editions are distributed as Live ISO images for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.

Please note that the Manjaro Linux 15.12 MATE and Cinnamon community editions have also been released and are available for download from our website.
