Today, October 24, 2016, Emil Velikov, a software release engineer working for Collabora, announced the availability of the second Release Candidate (RC) milestone of the upcoming Mesa 3D 13.0.0 Graphics Library.

The development cycle of the major Mesa 3D Graphics Library 13.0.0 branch, due for release later this month, on October 28, started last week, on October 19, with the Release Candidate 1 milestone. And today, we're able to test drive the second RC build, which introduces even more bug fixes and improvements.

Among the changes implemented in Mesa 13.0.0 RC2, we can mention the move of the BlendBarrier and PrimitiveBoundingBox definitions into the ES3.2 category for GLAPI, export of all GLES (OpenGL ES) 3.2 functions in the libGLESv2.so library, and the set of the VISIBILITY_CFLAGS argument for shared GLAPI to the automake file of the MAPI generic OpenVG dispatcher.

Mesa 13.0.0 RC2 also adds a couple of improvements to the next-gen Wayland display server, such as a fix for the error path and the addition of missing destroy_window callback, addresses 64-bit loads from LDS for the RadeonSI driver, and resolves block copies of arrays of doubles and structs for Mesa's GLSL-to-TGSI translator.

It also looks like the input and output decls of the GLSL-to-TGSI translator are now sorted by TGSI index, the primitive_restart function is now set only when the restart index is in range, cmask transitions are now allowed without fast clear for the RADV driver, which now uses emit_icmp for samples_identical.

More technical details about the changes implemented in this second Release Candidate of the upcoming Mesa 3D 13.0.0 Graphics Library should be found in the changelog attached below. In the meantime, you can download the Mesa 3D 13.0.0 RC2 source archive from our website and take it for a test drive.
