Well, alleged Yeti footprint, to be more precise

While on a camping trip with friends in the Siberian wilderness, a 12-year-old schoolboy by the name of Denis Alexandrov happened to stumble across a footprint twice the size that of a regular man.

The footprint, discovered by Denis Alexandrov in the Shorsky National Park in Russia's Kemerovo region, is rumored to have been left behind by a Yeti. That's right, the mythical, elusive Yeti whose existence is yet to be confirmed by science.

The footprint is giant, there is no going about it

As noted, the footprint found by 12-year-old Denis Alexandrov in the Siberian wilderness is about twice as big as that of a run-of-the-mill man.

The giant mark, photos of which are included in the gallery below, was left in a clay deposit. When the schoolboy happened upon it, its edges were still sharp, indicating that it was quite fresh.

In an interview, the boy's father admitted that, before his son found this footprint and showed it to him, he didn't think that the legend of the Yeti was real. He now most certainly does.

“We went to the place where the kids saw the footprint, and the only thing I can say was ‘I now know it exists,’” 49-year-old Andrei Alexandrov told The Siberian Times.

“The creature must have been very tall. The edges of the footprint were sharp, which means the creature left the footprint not long ago,” he added.

Not the first encounter with a Yeti this summer

Andrey Lyubchenko, an artist and sculptor, claims to have also crossed paths with a Yeti this summer, also in the Shorsky National Park.

The man says that, while exploring this patch of wilderness on the morning of July 27, he locked eyes with a mysterious creature about 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) tall and covered from head to toes in dark-brown fur.

For some reason, this Yeti that Andrey Lyubchenko supposedly encountered quite by mistake earlier this year was carrying a stick with it.

“He was holding a wooden stick, with bits of hair wrapped around it. But the main thing was his eyes, they were just like light-coloured human eyes,” the artist described the creature in an interview.

Interestingly, it appears that Yeti sightings are quite common in this corner of the world. Whether there is any truth to them or if perhaps they are all hoaxes is still up for debate.
