Flash memory manufacturers SanDisk and Micron unveiled today at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2019 the world's first (and fastest) 1TB microSD cards.

MWC 2019 kicked off today in Barcelona, Spain, where numerous popular manufacturers of mobile phones and related products are present to showcase their latest releases. microSD cards are essential these days for all sort of devices, not only smartphones, allowing users to store data like video and audio recording or photos.

As most of today's mobile phones and camcorders are capable of recording 4K content, microSD cards with larger capacities have started to become the norm rather than the exception, and SanDisk and Micron are the first to offer customers 1TB microSD cards, which you'll soon be able to purchase from your local stores.

"People trust SanDisk-brand cards to capture and preserve their world. Our goal is to deliver the best possible experience so consumers can share the content that's important to them," said Brian Pridgeon, director of marketing for SanDisk-branded products, Western Digital.

World's first and fastest 1TB microSDXC card is here

Both memory cards will be generaly available starting Q2 2019 at a retail price of $499.99 USD for the 1TB SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSDXC card as Micron c200 1TB microSDXC card's price is yet to be announced.
