The smartphones could feature 6GB of RAM inside

A few weeks ago, images showing a Galaxy S8 prototype with dual-camera setup surfaced and it was believed that the Galaxy Note 8 would be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual-lens setup on the back.

However, reports from last week showed that Samsung could equip a smartphone in the Galaxy C series with the flagship feature. Leakster @mmddj_china has revealed that the dual-camera smartphone will be the Galaxy C10 and the device will also run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset, set to be announced on May 9.

However, SamMobile has just revealed that the SM-C1950/9158 is actually the Galaxy C10 Plus, while the SM-C9100 is the standard model in the lineup. But at this point, it’s quite unclear if the SM-C1950 will actually be marketed under the Galaxy C10 Plus or Pro name.

Both smartphones could feature 6GB of RAM and Snapdragon 660

It would make sense for Samsung to feature a dual-camera setup only on the higher-end model in the series, while the standard one would be left with a single-lens camera. Recent rumors say that both smartphones are expected to feature 6GB of RAM, which is quite impressive for mid-range smartphones, but it’s worth noting that last year’s Galaxy C9 Pro also had 6GB of RAM.

Samsung’s mid-range offering for global markets is the Galaxy A series, while smartphones in the Galaxy C series usually launch in countries like India and China. This means that we might not see the smartphones reaching markets like the US or Europe, which means that fans who wish to get their hands on a Samsung smartphone with dual-lens and 6GB of RAM would have to wait for the Galaxy Note 8.

That being said, the Galaxy C10 and C10 Plus should launch next month, and a dual-lens setup on the Plus or Pro model seems probable, as Samsung sometimes tests market reaction before equipping flagship smartphones with certain premium features. The same happened with the 6GB of RAM capacity and the iris scanner, first featured on the Galaxy Tab Iris for Korea and then the Galaxy Note 7.
