Aside from flagship smartphones, Samsung is also working on other upcoming devices belonging to low- and mid-range series. Galaxy J Max has recently surfaced online, and the most interesting thing about it is that it will sport a 7-inch display.

Leakster Evan Blass has recently released an image of the Galaxy J Max, stating that the smartphone will come with a 7-inch display, which is quite large even for a tablet. Still, Samsung intends to market this handset as a smartphone first, although such screens are normally seen on tablets.

Still, Samsung relies on the fact that it will support dual SIMs and a wide range of international carriers, including GSM, HSDPA, and LTE. It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to such a massive smartphone and if consumers are actually drawn to a handset that clearly doesn't fit in most pockets.

The Galaxy J Max will be the newest addition to the J series

Nevertheless, the Galaxy J Max will be the thirteenth smartphone in the Galaxy J series, and the model won't receive a generic number branding like the Galaxy J5 or J7.

The image suggests that the device will come in a gold variant, but Samsung will be making the Galaxy J Max available in other colors as well. In addition, the picture showcases the back of the phone, revealing the rear camera, but not many other details.

Samsung won't be the first manufacturer to launch such a super-sized phone, as Huawei released the MediaPad X1 a while back. The smartphone had a 7-inch display and came with slim bezels and a 5,000mAh battery.

Considering the larger display on the Galaxy J Max, the handset should have a large battery and powerful specs to make it worthwhile. More information on this phone will surely emerge in the next few weeks, as it will pass through all certification agencies.
