Samsung seems to be focusing on its low and mid-range series of smartphones lately, as the company is said to be working on an upcoming Galaxy A9 (2017) device. However, this isn’t the only smartphone in the Galaxy A series expected to be announced by the South Korean company.

A post on Weibo (via Tech Updates) reveals that Samsung is working on an upcoming Galaxy A9 (2017) smartphone, but sadly not many details are revealed. The post only states that the device will carry the code number SM-A9200.

The Galaxy A9 (2017) isn’t the only smartphone in the Galaxy A series expected to be announced by Samsung in the near future, though. Apparently, the company is also working on new iterations of Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) will be carrying the model number SM-A320F, while the Galaxy A7 (2017) will have the code name SM-A720F.

Samsung released the international variant of Galaxy A9 Pro this summer

Galaxy A5 (2017) will have the code number SM-520F and the smartphone was recently spotted on a benchmarking site. It might come with a 1.87GHz octa-core Exynos 78820 processor and have 3GB of RAM. Additionally, the phone seems to run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and it could have a display size similar to last year’s model of 5.2 inches.

The Galaxy A9 (2017) will most likely be the successor to last year’s Galaxy A9, which came with a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD resolution and 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone ran Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and came with a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with Adreno 510 graphics processing unit.

It also had 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Rear camera capacity reaches 13MP, with an 8MP camera in the front for snapping selfies and capturing full HD videos. Battery capacity reached 4,000mAh, which is more than the capacity found on some Samsung flagships. The South Korean company also recently released the Galaxy A9 Pro and its international variant in June this year.
