The company has been sued in South Korea by some customers

Although many reports and surveys claim the two Galaxy Note 7 recalls barely hurt Samsung's brand at a global level, there are a number of customers who have decided to sue the South Korean company for various reasons.

Despite the fact that Samsung fans remain loyal to the handset maker and would buy another Galaxy Note immediately if their favorite company launched one tomorrow, about 2,400 customers in South Korea have filed a class action lawsuit against Samsung, Zdnet reports.

Each of these customers who previously owned the Galaxy Note 7 is asking Samsung for 500,000 won ($428) in compensation. Apparently, they are upset that they had to visit stores at least four times to replace their Galaxy Note 7 units.

However, Samsung is not willing to offer any compensations to these disgruntled customers, other than the ones that were already offered during the exchange process.

The South Korean company told the court in Seoul that it already offered the maximum compensation and benefits possible for those customers who purchased its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.

Samsung also stated that it took about 10 trillion won ($8.6 billion) in losses to fully refund the Galaxy Note 7 phablet.

According to the handset maker, if the court admits the class action lawsuit and awards the complainers their compensations, it will set a negative precedent “that will make future voluntarily, preventive, and active recalls impossible in the future.”

The world's number one smartphone maker by shipping has already offered compensations to Galaxy Note 7 customers in South Korea, some of which haven't been given in other countries.

All those who purchased and then exchanged their Galaxy Note 7 units in South Korea will be receiving a 50% discount on either the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8 next year when they get released.
