Samsung has just released a new smartphone in the Galaxy On series, the Galaxy On8, and it seems that the company continues work on upcoming smartphones. The W2017 flip phone has just been spotted on benchmarking site GFXBench.

Specifications for the flip phone carrying the code number SM-W2017 have been revealed in the listing. Apparently, the smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and will run a 2.1GHz Snapdragon 820 processor, one of the latest models from Qualcomm. The processor model will be coupled with the Adreno 530 graphics processing unit.

In addition, the smartphone could feature a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP camera in the front for snapping photos and conducting video calls. RAM capacity could reach 4GB and the phone might have 64GB of internal storage.

Samsung W2017 might be announced next month in China

The SM-W2017, dubbed Samsung Veyron, could run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and come with a fingerprint scanner on the back, as previous reports mentioned.

The smartphone might also come with fast charging for its 2,000mAh battery. SM-W2017 could also have Always-On Display feature, as previously leaked images revealed.

The rumored price tag might reach about $1,498, and the phone is expected to be announced in China next month. Chances are Samsung might not make the device available in other countries, since there's not much interest in flip phones in other markets outside of China.

The W2017 will surely have more advanced features compared to its predecessor, the W2016, announced in November last year. The W2016 came with a 3.9-inch Super AMOLED screen with HD support and ran a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM and a 16MP rear camera.

It also had a 5MP camera in the front and a 2,000mAh battery. The smartphone ran Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
