Samsung has decided to update the Good Lock app for Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and other smartphones running Android Marshmallow. The latest version 24.0.10 comes not only with multiple bug fixes, as is customary with almost all new software updates, but also some major changes.

Samsung’s Good Lock is an application that allows users to customize the UI of Galaxy phones and adjust the way they use the lockscreen and notifications.

It brings about an app tray feature that enables users to launch applications from the lockscreen, without having to enter their password or scan their fingerprint. It also has lockscreen widgets, tools for organizing notifications, and lots of customization options.

The most notable new feature in version 24.0.10 is PopupWindow by Notification, which displays notifications from apps that support Samsung’s MultiWindow feature - they will appear in the bottom right corner of the notification panel.

The update comes with Ultra Power Saving

Users are able to select the application from that corner, which will open as a pop-up window on the screen. The window can be resized and adjusted using controls that Samsung provides in the MultiWindow section.

The new version also brings some minor adjustments and tools, and users can enable or disable Silent Mode using the volume key or add Quick Connect Bar in Notification.

The bar can be used for selecting media path, and the changelog reveals that Good Lock now supports backup and restore features. Moreover, Ultra Power Saving has also been added to the new version so that power consumption on the phone would be reduced.

Samsung has also introduced multiple bug fixes and tweaked some sections or features in the Good Lock. A few color adjustments have also been made, and users can now change the color scheme in routines.

Good Lock version 24.0.10 has a size of 14.2MB, and it’s available in Samsung’s Galaxy Apps store. If the update isn’t there for some reason, users can use the download link.

The update has come just days after information emerged that Samsung might have the intention of implementing Tizen on all of its devices.
