14 DAY TRIAL // The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will definitely get Android Nougat updates sometime in January 2017. However, ahead of the Nougat release, Samsung has decided to update the user manuals of both smartphones with most of the new features included in the new version of the operating system.
Those who have been accepted into the Galaxy Beta Program most likely have a pretty good idea of what's to come, but the large majority of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners don't really know what to expect from Android Nougat.
Well, it appears that new versions of the user manuals for both smartphones are now available for download, so if you want to know what new features and improvements you will get after upgrading to Android Nougat, by all means go ahead and download them (Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 edge).
It's also important to understand that, aside from the standard new features included in Android Nougat, Samsung added its own improvements, which haven't been mentioned anywhere outside the beta program.
If you've been part of the beta program for either Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge, then you should know that this program ended on December 30. Samsung has announced that there will no other beta builds pushed to these smartphones.
Instead, the South Korean company will try and distribute the final version of Android Nougat starting in January 2017. Also, depending on country and carrier, you might not receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but an earlier version of the OS.
Even though Samsung has suggested that it plans to upgrade all Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge phones directly to Android 7.1.1 Nougat, some carriers have confirmed they are only testing Android 7.0 Nougat builds.
However, we believe that even those carrier-branded Galaxy S7/S7 edge phones will get Android 7.1.1 Nougat updates at some point next year.
