The list of confirmed devices is subject to change

There has been a lot of talk about Samsung's plans for Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates, but the South Korean company hasn't confirmed anything yet.

Many of you probably remember that a few months ago sources claimed Samsung planned to offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrades for several smartphones by early 2016.

Today, we have more information on which Samsung smartphones and tablets will eventually receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and an estimated availability timeframe.

The folks over at YouMobile claim they managed to get their hands on the official list of Samsung Galaxy devices that will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming months.

Along with the list of confirmed devices, the cited source also offers estimated date of arrival (ETA) for these updates. So, without further ado, here are the Samsung Galaxy devices that will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrades in Q1 2016:

Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, and Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

Some devices will receive the update later next year

Besides the devices mentioned earlier, which are expected to receive the Android 6.0 update early next year, Samsung also plans to make the upgrade available to other devices in Q2 2016.

Here are the devices that will get Marshmallow later next year: Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0.

Keep in mind though that these dates are estimated, so they are subject to change. This means that the South Korean company might offer some updates sooner or later.

It's also worth mentioning that Samsung has yet to decide which mid-range smartphones will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade.
