14 DAY TRIAL // McAfee has recently announced that Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones come with McAfee antivirus software pre-installed. But the latest flagship smartphones aren’t the only ones to receive security solutions, as a number of other Samsung devices will come with pre-loaded McAfee software.
Following a partnership with Samsung, McAfee will pre-install its security solution on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones, making it available for free for 60 days, after which users will receive special offers if they wish to continue using the product.
McAfee software solution is available for Galaxy S8 units worldwide, while Samsung Smart TV units will be pre-loaded with McAfee Security for TV only in South Korea and the US. The availability will expand to other markets this year.
Other Samsung smartphones come with McAfee security solution
In addition, McAfee VirusScan for smartphones is made available for a number of other Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Moreover, McAfee LiveSafe cross-device security software is also pre-installed on all new Samsung PCs.
“As the connected world of devices continues to expand into consumers’ homes, Samsung users can feel comfortable knowing that their devices are protected with the latest security solutions,” said Henry Lee, VP of Mobile Security Technologies and the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.
Through this partnership, the two companies are aiming to address the needs of consumers, as 44% of them are worried about their financial information being stolen, while 38% are worried about identity theft, according to McAfee.
Samsung recently launched pre-orders for unlocked Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones in the US, while the versions will be available in stores on May 31. Customers who place their pre-order by May 24 will receive their unlocked Samsung flagships starting May 30. In addition, Samsung is offering an Entertainment Kit and a free 6-month subscription to Netflix for pre-orders.
