When they were released earlier this year, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus were made available in a number of color options, including Midnight Black, Arctic Silver, Maple Gold, Coral Blue, and the very appealing Orchid Grey. Now it seems that Samsung is preparing to add new color options to the mix.

The Galaxy S8 will soon be available in Ice Lake Blue, Smoked Purple Grey and Quicksand Gold, while the Galaxy S8 Plus will be made available only in the latter two hues, according to a report.

Images of the new color options surfaced over at Samsung Taiwan, but sadly, it’s unknown at this point if they will be available only in that country or if they will arrive in other regions as well. Presumably, the new color variants will carry the same price as the models released earlier this year.

Samsung wants the Galaxy S8 to surpass previous sales records

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus were well received on the market, with sales surpassing the five million mark during the first three weeks since their official launch on April 21. The South Korean smartphone maker is expected to sell about 20 million Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones in the current quarter, while the total number of sold units should reach about 60 million by the end of 2017.

One of the most appealing features of the Galaxy S8 is the Infinity Display which covers more space on the front panel compared to previous Galaxy S models. Samsung is expected to bring some improvements to the display and even integrate a fingerprint sensor below the screen on the upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.

The smartphones are rumored to carry the codenames Star and Star 2 and accommodate a dual-lens camera setup on the rear. Rumors say that early development for the Galaxy S9 has already begun, while Samsung is busy working on the Galaxy Note 8, expected to arrive this summer. The upcoming phablet will have a bigger display of about 6.3 inches with 18:9 aspect ratio.
