Some of you might remember that Samsung launched a video streaming service last year which was called Milk. Well, if you don't remember, then you won't have to since the South Korean company has decided to shut down the video streaming service.

Unfortunately, one year after its release Samsung Milk Video service calls it quits. The announcement probably took some users by surprise, while others claim they have seen this coming for quite some time now.

“Thank you for using Samsung Milk Video. While we remain committed to providing premium entertainment services, we have decided to end support for the Samsung Milk Video app as of November 20, 2015,” reads the company's announcement on Google Play store.

So, effective November 20, Samsung Milk Video streaming service will stop working. This means that all those relying on Samsung's service should start looking for alternatives.

Could another service take its place?

In case you never used Samsung Milk Video, then you should know that this service was, and still is, exclusive to Samsung smartphones and tablets.

There's pretty a long list of compatible devices published on Google Play Store, but that won't matter now. Also, the service is only available in the United States and even if Samsung planned to bring it to other countries that won't happen anymore.

With Samsung Milk Video, Android users can discover and share some of the most popular videos. Basically, the streaming service helps users find trending videos faster.

According to Samsung, videos appear based on who a user follows, and what they watch, star, and share, which means it learns your habits and get better the more you use it.

Apparently, Samsung's video streaming wasn't as popular as the South Korean company has hoped, which is likely the main reason it will be shut down next month. Still, there's always room for another Samsung service.
