Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 has been quite popular on the market and it seems that the smartphone has even exceeded the company’s expectations. But Samsung has been having some supply issues with the Galaxy Note 7, as it delayed releases in multiple countries.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 experienced outstanding sales in Canada, where the Blue Coral model was almost out of stock during pre-orders. The smartphone was so well received on the market that it caused supply constraints globally, according to Reuters.

Samsung representatives have stated that strong initial sales have caused some issues for the company, which is now struggling to boost production and meet the high demand. This could cause a loss of potential sales for Samsung, if it fails to meet demand in time and the shortage persists.

"As pre-order results for the Galaxy Note 7 have far exceeded our estimates, its release date in some markets has been adjusted," Samsung told Reuters, but didn’t give out any details on which countries or the rescheduled release date.

An analyst stated for Reuters that Samsung is currently boosting production at locations where the Note 7 is manufactured and that supply shouldn’t be an issue considering that Samsung is the developer of key parts on the Note 7, including displays and chips.

Samsung could sell 15 million Note 7 units this year

Samsung is expected to sell up to 15 million Galaxy Note 7 phones this year, compared to 9 million Note 5 devices sold last year. It seems likely for the Note 7 to outsell its predecessor, considering that it comes with many improvements, like a dual-curved display, enhanced S Pen features and an iris scanner, the first on a Note device.

Samsung has already announced that it delayed the release of the Galaxy Note 7 in certain countries, including Luxembourg, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Belgium and Russia.

Samsung is now aiming at keeping the momentum and taking advantage of the Note 7’s popularity, considering that IFA 2016 is approaching and other flagship releases have already been announced.
