Samsung will bring out a new tablet soon

Back in August, word that Samsung was looking to make a comeback to manufacturing Windows-powered devices surfaced online.

You might probably remember that, years ago, good old Sammy was offering a line of Windows-based tablets called ATIV. The devices didn’t achieve great popularity, but it appears that the Korean tech giant is willing to try yet again.

A fresh report coming out of Sam Mobile now seems to confirm this information. An unannounced tablet from Samsung bearing model number SM-W700 has been spotted going through Indian import/export website Zauba, revealing some extra info about the device in the process.

According to the online document, the SM-W700 features a 12-inch display and appears to be bearing a price tag of $457 / €403, although it’s pretty unlikely this will be its final price.

The tablet might be the first to take advantage of a 4K screen

Previous rumors indicated that the mystery slate might arrive in the wild with a 4K resolution (3840 x 2400 pixels) display. 2K (2560 x 1600 resolution) is also an option, but after the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, it would be rather interesting to see a 4K tablet launch on the market as well.

What’s more, the 12-incher should be drawing life form a 14nm Intel Core M chipset, working hand in hand with 4GB of RAM. According to sources familiar with the matter, Samsung’s new tab should boast a pretty slender 6.2 mm frame and weigh just 600 g. Additionally, Samsung might surprise us and release the slate under the Galaxy Note umbrella, meaning it could arrive with an S Pen attached.

It certainly looks like an interesting tablet to watch out for. Lately, the South Korean company has been producing pretty boring tablets, so it’s high time it came out with something interesting. And we’re fairly sure that a Windows 10 tablet from Samsung would provide pretty steep competition for the Surface 3.

Speaking of which, the 12-inch device that will be offered as an alternative to Samsung’s Android Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO products doesn’t seem to be the only atypical product the Korean company has in the pipeline.

Another unannounced Samsung tablet, this time featuring an 18.4-inch form factor surfaced in the same Indian database, indicating that the device maker has plans of raising the bar form factor-wise in the tablet sector.

What other surprises could Samsung be prepping for us in the near future?
