While we're getting closer to the WWDC 2018 event where Apple will unveil the iOS 12, macOS 10.14, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5 operating systems, the iPhone X Plus rumors continue to surface.

Last year in September, Apple announced the iPhone X, it's 10th anniversary iPhone, along with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models. Featuring OLED display technologies for the first time ever in an iPhone, the iPhone X is an innovative smartphone.

As we all know, Apple is preping to launch a new or more iPhone models later this year, and many believe the Cupertino, California-based company is developing a larger iPhone X model that might by dubbed the iPhone X Plus, based on previous naming convention.

According to the Taiwanese site Economic Daily News (via Google Translate and MacRumors), Apple is already in talks with Samsung to manufacture OLED displays for a new iPhone X variant, as well as the rumored iPhone X Plus model as soon as next month.

The report claims Samsung will begin production of OLED displays for Apple's upcoming iPhone models in May, and that the production capacity would double in June. However, Apple's supply chain in Taiwan decliend to comment on these new rumors.

Apple could also launch a iPhone 9 lineup with LCD displays

Earlier this year, predictions from various Apple analysts suggested the company will be launching a trio of iPhone devices in 2018, including the upgraded iPhone X model, the larger iPhone X Plus variant, as well as an iPhone 9 model LCD display.

So the new rumor about Samsung starting production of OLED displays for the next-generation iPhone X models supports the previous rumors. We'll have to wait until September to see what Apple has in store for us this year to believe these rumors though.

All new iPhone models that Apple wil launch in September will be powered by the forthcoming iOS 12 mobile operating system, whose new features and capabilities will be unveiled in early June during the Worldwide Developer Conference 2018 event.
