14 DAY TRIAL // These past few weeks have been filled with rumors and leaks on the upcoming Galaxy J2 (2016), but perhaps its most interesting feature is the new Smart Glow notification feature. Now, it seems that Samsung has finally released the Galaxy J2 (2016), together with the Galaxy J Max smartphone, which sports a gigantic display of 7 inches.
In the past few weeks, Samsung’s Galaxy J2 (2016) has received certification from the FCC and has even been spotted on benchmark websites, where some of its features have been revealed. The Galaxy J2 (2016) that the South Korean giant has debuted today is a revised variant of the initial model, released last year.
The smartphone’s specs aren’t exactly impressive, except for the Smart Glow notification, a new LED feature placed around the rear camera. The new tool changes its color based on certain alerts, such as those linked to apps and battery usage or incoming calls. Smart Glow comes with the capacity to indicate weather conditions, since the ring lights up based on the current forecast.
Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) comes with a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and features a 5-inch HD display. It also incorporates 1.5GB of RAM and provides just 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded to 128GB. Rear camera capacity reaches 8MP with LED flash and 5MP on the front snapper.
Battery capacity reaches 2,600mAh, and the smartphone runs Android Marshmallow 6.0. Moreover, the Galaxy J2 (2016) also comes with 4G (LTE Cat.4) support.
Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) will be available for purchase starting next week
It comes in multiple colors, including gold, black, and white. The smartphone measures 142.4 x 77.1 x 8.0mm, and it boasts Turbo Speed Technology (TST) feature, which enhances performance. Samsung claims that the feature can load apps up to 40% faster compared to other devices.
The Galaxy J2 (2016) will sell for a price of $145 and will be available in India starting next week. At this point, it’s unclear whether and when Samsung will make the smartphone available in other regions as well.
