The Galaxy J5 (2017) could be launched on June 22

Samsung has just introduced the new mid-range smartphones in the Galaxy J series, the Galaxy J3, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 (2017). Prices for the new phones vary by country and the Galaxy J5 (2017) will be the first to hit the market later this month, according to a report.

The Galaxy J3 (2017) comes with a 5-inch screen with HD resolution and a 13MP camera on the back, upgraded from the 8MP sensor on last year’s model. The selfie snapper is a 5MP camera, same as on the Galaxy J3 (2016).

The phone runs a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Dual-SIM support is included on the phone, together with a 2,400mAh battery, and the device runs Android Nougat out of the box.

Next in line is the Galaxy J5 (2017), which comes with a slightly larger 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution and features a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card. Moreover, the smartphone comes with 13MP cameras on the front and back and a battery of 3,000mAh. It runs Android Nougat, just like the Galaxy J7 (2017), which is the top-of-the-line model.

The device features a metal body and a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, same as on last year’s model. It runs a 1.6GHz octa-core processor and features 3GB of RAM, together with 16GB of internal storage. The main camera has a 13MP sensor, just like the front camera, while battery capacity reaches 3,600mAh.

The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and it will be the most expensive phone in the series. The Galaxy J5 (2017) will make its debut later this month, while the Galaxy J7 will arrive in July and the Galaxy J3 (2017) will hit the market in August. As expected, pricing and availability will vary by market.
