Samsung is said to have completed its investigation over the Galaxy Note 7 flagship and the company intends to tighten security over the upcoming Galaxy S8, to keep details about the smartphone private.

According to The Investor, Samsung’s Mobile Head Koh Dong-jin sent an email to its mobile department employees yesterday, reading "I feel deeply regretful to hear news of the recent attempts at data breach and prototype leak. Samsung had a bitter experience due to the leak of important data - on product design and business strategies - to China, and consequently suffered damages in the past."

The fact that the email leaked shows that Samsung has clear deficiencies in this regard and must focus on avoiding data breaches and keeping details about upcoming devices private. The speculation on Samsung’s upcoming flagship is increasing, especially since the South Korean company is looking to regain consumer trust following the disaster with the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung has reportedly completed its investigation on the Galaxy Note 7

Samsung did launch an investigation on the Note 7’s problem earlier this year, to determine exactly why the battery in some units caught fire and resulted in physical injuries in some cases. The report mentioned that Samsung completed its internal investigation and provided its findings to outside laboratories, like the Korea Testing Laboratory and UL.

Rumors on the Galaxy S8 continue to pour in, the latest suggesting that the fingerprint scanner might be located on the back of the phone, seeing how the home button might not be featured on the unit. Moreover, the smartphone might not come with a flat display and could be provided in two dual-edge curved display variants - of 5.7 inches and 6.2 inches in size. The phone could also be missing a headphone jack, which might be replaced with a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy S8 could also include an Exynos 9.
