14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, Samsung unveiled the seventh color version of its current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 edge, which will be available in Black Pearl. The device can also be purchased in White Pearl, Gold Platinum, Pink Gold, Blue Coral and Silver Titanium, among other color options.
Although the South Korean company did not mention anything about the phone's price, we expect it to be slightly more expensive than the other color versions since it packs more storage.
Samsung has confirmed that the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge will be exclusive to 128GB versions of the device, so there won't be any models with less than that amount of internal memory.
Furthermore, the handset maker has announced that the smartphone will be available in select markets beginning December 9. Sadly, we don't know what those “select markets” really are, at least for the time being.
We do believe that the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge will be initially launched in South Korea, Samsung's home turf, but other than that, it's unclear where else the phone will be available for purchase.
Hardware-wise, aside from the fact that it comes with more storage inside, the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge packs the same configuration as the other color editions.
The only difference is on the outside, though we're not sure how the Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge stands out when compared to the Black Onyx model since both are … black.
According to Samsung, “the sleek black finish blankets the entire device - edges and all - and adds depth to its glass design. The result is a stylish all-black aesthetic that captures the essence of the color in its purest form.”
The Black Pearl Galaxy S7 edge color edition is likely to be the last Samsung launches this year because its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, is expected to be unveiled in late February.
