14 DAY TRIAL // The first rumors about Samsung's Galaxy S7 flagship emerged online several weeks ago and suggested the South Korean company might launch no less than three different high-end smartphones in Q1 2016.
According to previous hearsay, Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and Galaxy S7 edge+ should have been unveiled later this month.
However, following reports claimed Samsung decided to cancel the Galaxy S7 edge+, though no apparent reason was given at that date.
Today, a new report coming from TechRadar sheds more light on the reason Samsung decided to cancel the Galaxy S7 edge+ flagship.
According to a source with knowledge of Samsung's plans, the company does not plan to launch the Galaxy S7 edge+ in the UK, and there will be no such model available on the market.
“Samsung isn't going to launch the S7 Edge+ in the UK. I got the impression that it had been a bit of a disappointment sales-wise and that the decision to keep the Note 5 out of Europe is now considered a mistake.”
“So our information is that the Note 6 will launch in the UK in August and that there will be no S7 Edge+,” said the source.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 6 globally from the beginning
Basically, Samsung has learned from previous mistakes and is now fearing fans' backlash more than ever. The Galaxy S7 edge+ should have been released in Europe instead of the Galaxy Note 6, which would have been once again available in the United States and a few other markets.
Since this strategy did not work at all with the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5, Samsung has decided to drop it altogether and offer the Galaxy Note 6 worldwide.
In the process, the Galaxy S7 edge+ was canned since it didn't make sense for the smartphone to exist and eat away at Galaxy Note 6's market.
