The smartphone was released in April this year

Last year was quite disastrous for one of Samsung’s flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 7, as the company was faced with disgruntled customers after several units started catching fire. An ample investigation revealed that some battery units were to blame.

The Galaxy Note 7 was discontinued and Samsung, as well as authorities, concluded that two separate battery issues caused the smartphone to overheat and eventually catch fire. Physical and property damages were reported, as Samsung started retrieving all units from its customers.

The South Korean company upped quality assurance tests and procedures, and it seems that the effort paid off. Samsung recently stated for Korean news outlets that no battery problems on the Galaxy S8 were reported since the device's release, which took place about 50 days ago.

The Galaxy S8 was subjected to multiple safety checks

The Galaxy S8 was launched in April and not one customer complained about overheating battery units in their smartphones. The latest flagship and other smartphones manufactured by Samsung are put through an 8-point battery safety check procedure which pays close attention to the lithium-ion juicer inside phones during all stages of production and up until the final product is prepped for shipping. The procedure makes sure that customers are safer with their latest Samsung smartphones, regardless if they’re flagship devices or mid-rangers.

Samsung handled the Galaxy Note 7 disaster quite well, considering that the company is preparing to release the refurbished Galaxy Note FE and recently upped the supply by 50% to 400,000 units in Korea. The smartphone will feature a replaced smaller battery of 3,200mAh and come with the same internal specs as the original Galaxy Note 7.

It will also come with the R letter on the back, signaling the fact that it’s a refurbished unit and not the original model. Rumors say the smartphone will release on July 7 in Korea, with Samsung’s virtual assistant Bixby on board. Perhaps before the release Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 Active, the rugged variant of the Galaxy S8 flagship.
