Samsung has stopped sales of its latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7, and they might restart after the recall procedure ends, most likely sometime in October. The company may now be focusing on boosting sales of other smartphones, considering that it recorded massive losses due to the recall.

Apparently, Samsung is offering free Gear VR to customers of Galaxy S7 edge in the UK. The offer ends on October 5, according to SamMobile. When the Galaxy S7 edge was first released at the start of the year, Samsung offered the Gear VR for free for pre-orders.

Now, it seems that the company will include the new Gear VR as a bonus to buyers of the phone in an attempt to boost sales. The Galaxy S7 edge can be purchased in stores or online from an authorized retailer.

For those who don't know, the new Gear VR was introduced together with the Galaxy Note 7.

Customers must claim their new Gear VR within 60 days after the purchase

Customers would need to access Samsung's website in order to claim their new Gear VR headset no later than 60 days after the purchase was made. The new Gear VR ships in up to 30 days after the purchase is validated.

The Galaxy S7 edge comes with a dual-curved design and very powerful specs. The phone has a 5.5-inch, 1440 x 2560 pixel display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. It also features an octa-core Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 graphics processing unit. RAM capacity reaches 4GB and the phone comes in two internal storage variants, one with 32GB and the other with 64GB.

It has a 12MP rear camera with OIS and LED flash, a 5MP front camera with Auto HDR, and is powered by a 3,600mAh battery. It's the best option from Samsung, considering that the Galaxy Note 7 has been recalled and some time might pass until sales restart.
