Samsung will be holding a press event on February 26, the day when many companies will announce new smartphones, just before MWC 2017 officially starts. But the Korean company won’t be unveiling a new phone, but a new tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S3 has been the subject of many leaks for the past few months, while the latest reveals a full frontal image of the new tablet, alongside its S Pen. According to WinFuture, the high-end tablet will feature a 9.7-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. Apparently, the tablet won’t come in an 8-inch variant.

The report mentions that the Galaxy Tab S3 will have an external S Pen, but won’t have a built-in slot for it. The tablet is expected to come in a Silver version to replace the former white model, while a black variant will be made available as well.

SD820 SoC and 4GB of RAM for about $580

The Galaxy Tab S3 is said to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM, with 32GB of internal storage. Rear camera capacity might reach 12MP, coupled with a 5MP camera in the front. Moreover, the tablet will have LTE Cat. 6 support, Gigabit WLAN and Bluetooth 4.2.

The estimated price for the high-end tablet will be about $580 at US retailers, but that remains to be seen. Recent reports also point towards a fingerprint sensor in the front, embedded in the physical home button. In addition, it could run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

The tablet has already received Bluetooth and WiFi certification, meaning that it’s ready for the unveiling on February 26. During the same event, Samsung is also expected to screen a one-minute video of the Galaxy S8, possibly revealing some design elements and specs for the upcoming flagship, which is set to be officially announced on March 29.
