Huawei Nova lite has just been officially introduced in Japan. The smartphone will be available in black, gold and white, starting February 24 for a price that hasn't been announced yet.

However, we do know that the smartphone will be launched in more countries in the coming weeks, and that the price should be of around €240.

We reported a few weeks ago that the Huawei P8 lite (2017) would be released in some countries as Huawei Nova lite, so those who've been following our news feed already know what to expect.

The Nova lite is exactly the same device as the P8 lite (2017), but with a different name. Japan is likely to be just the first country where the smartphone is launched as Nova lite, though we don't know where else the Nova lite will be introduced.

The good news is the smartphone is pretty decent specs-wise, as reported by Blog of Mobile. For example, it comes with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system on board and features a powerful octa-core processor inside.

Hybrid dual-SIM and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor

Huawei added its own Kirin 655 chipset, which accommodates four 2.1GHz A53 cores and four 1.7GHz A53 cores. The powerful CPU is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

As many Huawei mid-range smartphones, the Nova lite offers hybrid dual-SIM support, but it also features a fingerprint scanner that's been positioned on the back side.

Speaking of which, the Nova lite has a 12-megapixel camera on the back, which features LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. There's also a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera in the front, as well as a 3,000 mAh battery inside.

Huawei's smartphone sports a 5.2-inch IPS display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. Other highlights include 4G LTE support, NFC (Near Field Communication), 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB 2.0.
