The new tablet is now available for $330 outright

The Galaxy Tab E is an affordable Android tablet that has just been launched in the United States. For the time being, the only carrier that offers the slate is Verizon Wireless, but others might launch it in the near future.

Anyway, customers can now purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tab E for $13.74 a month for 24 months. Also, the tablet can also be had for $330 outright or $130 with a new two-year agreement.

The good news is Samsung Galaxy Tab E comes preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. It remains to be be seen whether or not Samsung will offer an Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade next year.

As mentioned earlier, this is an affordable tablet, so don't expect any impressive specs under the hood. However, this doesn't mean that Galaxy Tab E should be overlooked by Android fans.

When it comes to hardware, Samsung Galaxy Tab E is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

4G LTE support and 7,300mAh battery

The Galaxy Tab E comes with a 9.6-inch WXGA LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

On the back, there's a 5-megapixel camera with video recording but no LED flash, while on the front, there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera for selfies.

Samsung's affordable slate is powered by a 7,300mAh battery, which features Ultra Power Saving Mode that allows users to maximize battery life.

According to Verizon, Samsung Galaxy Tab E is XLTE-ready, so owners should expect blazing-fast speeds for Internet browsing and data transfers.

“Think about the way you use a tablet. Chances are, everyone else in your home would use it differently. With different apps, different games, and different home screens too. When sharing a tablet, who gets to choose what apps are on the home screen, the wallpaper, or the main email account?”

“This is where a family tablet like the new Samsung Galaxy Tab E comes in, offering portable entertainment in a practical design, and featuring Multi-User Mode,” says Verizon in a blog post.
