The smartphone won't come with dual-camera setup

Reports about the upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship continue to pour in, but this time we got more info than usual. Apparently, there are a couple of things that Samsung will change in the phone's design, while others will remain the same as in the previous models.

A new report coming from Bloomberg states that sources with direct knowledge of the matter claim Samsung will launch a bezel-less Galaxy S8 next year in February.

The all-screen front of the flagship will be the Galaxy S8's main “pièce de résistance,” though we're wondering what the real screen-to-body ratio will be. In order to build an edgeless phone, Samsung has decided to ditch the physical Home button, which was one of the specific features of a Galaxy S series flagship.

Since the Home button will be gone, Samsung will have to integrate the fingerprint sensor under the display, and that's exactly what's going to happen. The new Galaxy S8 will feature wraparound displays that use organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology.

Even though previous rumors suggested Samsung might adopt the dual-camera setup starting next year, the Galaxy S8 won't be the first to offer this feature. The report says the upcoming flagship will keep the single-lens camera on the back side.

One other piece of information revealed by the source suggests that while Samsung plans to release the Galaxy S8 on the market sometime in March, the phone could be delayed until April since the South Korean company is determined to adopt “tougher testing procedures” after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

The phone is likely to come in two display variations: 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch. Also, Samsung will launch different versions of the Galaxy S8 based on the chipset inside. Some will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU, while others will come with its own Exynos chipset.

There's no word on the battery powering the Galaxy S8, but we do know this will be Samsung's first smartphone to ship with Android Nougat right out of the box.
