Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S8 won't be unveiled next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC), and all sources leaking information have come to an agreement which points to a March 29 release.

Following the previous information published by The Guardian, reputable leaker Evan Blass via VentureBeat has revealed even more details about the upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship, as well as a real pic of the phone.

According to Blass, the next Galaxy S8 devices will be very different from any of the previous models launched by Samsung. Sources claim that due to the bezel-less design, these phones will boast larger displays even compared to the Galaxy Note phablets, but they will not be much bigger than the current Galaxy S7 models.

So, the “standard” Galaxy S8 will boast a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, whereas the “Plus” model will come with an even larger 6.2-inch display with the same resolution.

Both phones will feature around 83% screen-to-body and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. As reported by The Guardian, the pair will have dual-edge curved displays, so there won't be any Galaxy S8 devices with flat screens.

Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets to power the Galaxy S8

Samsung will launch different variations of the Galaxy S8 with both Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Exynos chipsets, both being manufactured using 10nm FeT technology. These chipsets are said to be 11% faster than the Snapdragon 820 and 20% more energy efficient.

Speaking of which, the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 will be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, whereas its bigger brother will pack a larger 3,500 mAh battery inside.

The amount of RAM will remain the same, as both Galaxy S8 phones are said to pack 4GB RAM, but the base model will include 64GB internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card). The Galaxy S8 will feature both USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack.

Moving on to the camera department, not many improvements have been made, as the Galaxy S8 will come with a 12-megapixel duo-pixel camera on the back, and a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front (as opposed to the 5-megapixel front camera on the Galaxy S7).

The rear camera will feature some extra functionalities like the option to visually search for information. This new functionality is OCR-enabled, so it will search online for subjects or texts seen on the screen.

Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Force Touch technology, Bixby AI, more

Above the screen, right near the selfie camera, Samsung will add an iris scanner, the same that's been included on the Galaxy Note 7. As previously reported, the Galaxy S8 won't have any physical buttons on the front, so the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back.

Other features that have been rumored in the past are confirmed by Blass' sources, including the Bixby assistant that's said to be able to cope with more complex commands, as well as the Samsung DeX service that allows users to connect the phone to larger displays, mouse, keyboard, and other peripherals.

On top of that, Samsung plans to introduce Force Touch technology inside the Galaxy S8's displays, the same that's been debuted by Apple on the iPhone 6s.

Last but not least, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S8 smartphones on March 29, and they will go on sale on April 21. The 5.8-inch model will be available for purchase in Europe for €800, while the 6.2-inch model will cost no less than €900.
