Samsung is set to announce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ during an event on March 29 in New York City and London. Pictures and many details about the new phone are surfacing on a daily basis, the latest of which shows the larger Galaxy S8+’s results in benchmark.

The Galaxy S8+ was spotted on Geekbench carrying the code number SM-G955U, according to SlashLeaks. The phone appears to run Android 7.0 Nougat and received a score of 1929 in the single-core test and 6048 in the multi-core one.

The unit runs Qualcomm’s latest octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at 1.9GHz and coupled with 4GB of RAM. The processor will be able to handle intensive applications like 3D gaming and provides better performance compared to SD821. It also supports Quick Charge 4.0 and is built on the 10nm FinFET process.

Higher performance compared to Galaxy S7 edge

The Galaxy S8+ will run Exynos 8895 SoC in certain regions, the processor built by Samsung will be based on the same process and should offer roughly the same performance as Qualcomm’s latest chipset. Galaxy S7 edge phones running SD820 and Android 7.0 Nougat score about 1860 in the single-core test and 5300 in the multi-core one. Surely, the improved performance of Snapdragon 835 will provide more power to the S8, compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S7 edge.

The Galaxy S8+ is expected to feature a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and 64GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD card. It’s said to have a 12MP dual pixel rear camera and 8MP front facing selfie snapper.

The two phones will have IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and Samsung’s own Bixby virtual assistant. Samsung will be bringing back the iris scanner with the Galaxy S8, while battery capacity on the larger model could reach 3,500mAh and 3,000mAh on the standard variant, but that’s just a rumor at this point.
