Samsung released the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in a number of color options and it seems that the company is getting ready to offer the larger variant in a new hue. A render of the Galaxy S8+ in Rose Gold has just leaked online.

The image surfaced in a report, revealing the Galaxy S8+ in a color combination between rose and gold. Take the information with a grain of salt, though, as some details would suggest that the image is in fact fake. The rough edges around the camera lens and body of the phone would suggest a poorly-made unofficial render.

That being said, it wouldn’t be surprising for Samsung to release a new color option for its flagship smartphone, as it did with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge months after the phones were released. The Galaxy S7 edge was also offered in Blue Coral hue last year, similar to the color option launched for the Galaxy Note 7.

The new color option could arrive soon

Internal specs on the Rose Gold Galaxy S8+ will be the same, featuring a 6.2-inch Infinity Display with 1440 x 2960 pixel resolution and running an Exynos 8895 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform. Battery capacity is 3,500mAh and the phone has 4GB of RAM.

Rear camera capacity is 12MP with f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The front camera is an 8MP lens with f/1.7 aperture, auto HDR and autofocus. The device also features wireless charging and 64GB of internal storage.

At this point, it’s unknown when the new color option will arrive and which countries will receive it. Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S8 Active this month and make it available in the US. The smartphone will feature a bigger battery than the Galaxy S8 and come with military-grade certification. It will also have a more rugged look, while other specs are expected to stay the same, except for the display, which will be flat.
