Taiwanese website iThome reports on some of the hardware specifications of the upcoming Galaxy S8 Mini smartphone that Samsung is rumored to launch in South Korea sometime later this year.

Samsung's latest flagships, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are selling like hotcakes, but, for many, these powerful smartphones are too big to hold them comfortably, so it's the right decision for the South Korean electronic and smart appliance manufacturer to release a smaller variant of these devices.

And it now looks like the Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini hardware specifications have been leaked online, showing us that the smaller, yet powerful device will sport a 5.3-inch display on conservative design that should make it feel like you're holding a 4.7-inch mobile phone in your hand.

Will retain Galaxy S8' iris scanner locking mechanism

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Quad-Core processor, Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini looks to ship with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It will have the same 12 MP camera with f/1.7, 26mm, and phase detection autofocus that it's used on Samsung Galaxy S8, as well as its iris scanner locking mechanism.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini is expected to be first launch in South Korea, through an official release date was not revealed at the time of writing. In related news, Samsung has recently confirmed the launch of a refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone that the company dubbed as "Fan Edition" or simply FE.

Galaxy Note 7 FE pretty much the same internals as the original Galaxy Note 7 that Samsung had to recall because of numerous units exploding all over the world, but will ship with a much safer 3,200mAh battery that was enhanced with multiple safety designs, and the Bixby intelligent interface of Galaxy S8/S8+.
